Riley Shuts Out Montgomery
Sunday, August 8th, 2038
A favor to his bullpen. That's what Francis Riley was doing at Alouettes Ballpark today as he blanked the Montgomery Biscuits in a 9-inning complete game shutout.
"I went out there to try to eat up innings and help out our bullpen," the Capital Hill Interns right-hander said later. "I felt I had my good stuff, and it turned out my command was solid."
Riley notched 8 strikeouts, surrendered 1 walk, allowed 6 hits, and kept the bullpen phone quiet all day long.
To this point in the season, Riley shows a 7-7 record, 17 starts, 115 innings, 98 strikeouts and a 2.82 ERA.
