5-Hit Game for Gonzáles Wednesday, June 9th, 2038 The Atlantic City Sonics stopped the Yakima Hops by a score of 7-6 at Hops Park today, with the lion's share of the credit going to right fielder Manuel Gonzáles. The 25-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Gonzáles said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Gonzáles did just that in his 5 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Hops. "Not much that I can say," offered Yakima manager Tomás Gonzáles. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Manuel Gonzáles hit a three-run home run off Aurelio Ortíz in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
