Red-Hot Gallegos Cools Off Chesapeake
Monday, August 2nd, 2038
In a seemingly effortless performance, Sergio Gallegos of the Virginia Palladium Sox shot down the Chesapeake Continentals 3-0 on a 2-hit shutout.
"Sergio was just locating so well and using his pitches," Virginia manager Wynn Burton said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Gallegos recorded 11 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Chesapeake manager Allen Evans said in his postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
In 16 starts this season Gallegos has notched a 5-4 record and a 3.82 ERA.
