Franke Goes 5-for-5 Against Chesapeake
Friday, July 16th, 2038
After a 5-hit effort to lead Yakima's 5-4 victory over the Chesapeake Continentals, second baseman Sebastian Franke told BNN beat writers it had been "a special day."
"It really doesn't matter whether it's sandlot ball, high school or college, two hits in a game is nice," he said. "Three or four is better, but five or more is out of sight. And to do that at the USPL Double A-level is really something special."
The 22-year-old player earned his accolades today at Chesapeake Grounds with a spectacular 5-for-5 game against the Continentals.
"His swing is getting there," said Hops skipper Tomás Gonzáles, who spoke glowingly of Franke after the game. "We want him to be quick with his swing, short and compact. We want him to be patient and go the other way when he can. Sebastian did that to perfection today."
Sebastian Franke singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
In 58 games this season Franke is batting .317 with 76 hits and 3 home runs. He has scored 43 runs and driven in 25.
