League Gives Ashpenaz Suspension Saturday, September 4th, 2038 Hassle an umpire and you will have to pay the consequences. Just ask Olympia third baseman Meshach Ashpenaz. He argued to excess over a third strike yesterday in the Olympia-Tacoma game at Ballpark of Tacoma. Today the league office notified Ashpenaz that he had been given a 3-game suspension for his egregious conduct. Luckily the Ogres manager and the bench coach intervened physically and removed him from the field. Otherwise it might have gotten even worse. Ashpenaz is presently hitting at a .281 pace with 8 home runs and 48 RBIs. He has played in 85 games and scored 47 times. |
