Garza 5-for-6 for Love Boats Friday, August 20th, 2038 The Lake Minnetonka Love Boats stopped the Virginia Beach Whales by a score of 6-3 at Virginia Beach Grounds today, with the lion's share of the credit going to center fielder Alfredo Garza. The 24-year-old had a career day, collecting 5 hits. "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate," Garza said later. "He wants to hit the ball hard." Garza did just that in his 6 at-bats, much to the chagrin of the Whales. "Not much that I can say," offered Virginia Beach manager Bernie Drake. "He just hammered the heck out of us." Alfredo Garza singled in the 1st, doubled in the 4th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Wendell Drabek in the 8th, singled in the 10th and struck out in the 12th.
