Fur Traders End Oskamp's Streak Wednesday, August 18th, 2038 Carel Oskamp, center fielder for the Phoenix Hotspur Youth, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Tacoma Fur Traders today. Not only did the Fur Traders break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Phoenix Hotspur by the score of 3-0. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Oskamp said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Oskamp is currently batting .307 with 2 home runs and 30 RBIs. |
