Volkoff Has Hot Hand, Bangs 5 hits Monday, August 2nd, 2038 Nikolai Volkoff had an answer for everything the Ithaca Fighting Imps threw at him today at Imps Park. The Irving first baseman went 5-for-6 in the game to put his name in the record book and put the Blue Sox on top, 20-4. Summing up his batting philosophy to BNN writers after the game, Volkoff said, "I just see the ball and I hit it." Nikolai Volkoff struck out in the 1st, doubled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, hit an RBI double in the 5th, walked in the 7th, hit a two-run single in the 8th and singled in the 9th. In his stats this season, Volkoff has posted a batting average of .331 with 98 hits in 296 at-bats, 9 home runs and 54 RBIs. He has also scored 50 runs, walked 27 times and compiled a .387 OBP.
