Johnston Named 3AA's #1 Hurler Tuesday, October 12th, 2038 Sam Johnston of the Athletic Club KC Academy will be adding a new centerpiece to his mantel after being tabbed for the M3L Double A Outstanding Pitcher Award today. The 26-year-old hurler started 18 games this season, tallying a 11-4 record. In 127 innings, Johnston gave up 108 hits, struck out 82, walked 46 and held opponents to a .228 average as he posted a fine 2.41 ERA. He received 11 first place votes out of a possible 12. Jesús Castillo of the Ottawa Nationals finished second in voting with 1 first place vote, while Jared LaBarge of the Belvedere Park Rawhides finished third.
