Geudre Touches All the Bases, Hits for Cycle
Thursday, July 29th, 2038
Charles Geudre accomplished one of the rarer feats in baseball today when he hit for the cycle against the Asheville Highlanders in the 10-2 Billings Polar Bears win at Asheville Park.
Afterward, Geudre acknowledged that his accomplishment was special, but said he was more interested in helping the Polar Bears win.
"Maybe one day I'll look back on this with more meaning, but right now I just want to go out tomorrow and put some good swings on the ball and help my club win another game," Geudre said.
On his historic day, he went 4-for-5 with 3 RBI and 2 runs scored -- and also got a spot in the history books.
Charles Geudre flied out in the 1st, hit a solo-shot off Robert Snoddy in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 5th, singled in the 7th and tripled in the 9th.
So far this season, Geudre has recorded a .268 batting average with 59 hits, 17 home runs, 54 RBIs, 35 runs scored and a .344 OBP.
