Vermont second baseman Curf Pierstisnips had a big day at Whips Ballpark today against the Pawnee ParksNRec. The 22-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the Lake Monsters to a 12-8 triumph over Pawnee.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Pierstisnips said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Curf Pierstisnips hit an RBI single in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 8th and tripled in the 10th.
So far this season Pierstisnips has put up a .337 batting average with 66 hits, 5 home runs and 24 RBIs.
