Tortolita's Alvarado Voted 3AAA's #1 Skipper Friday, October 8th, 2038 Wilson Alvarado celebrated a successful season with the Tortolita Drummers by hosting team officials and select media at a Tortolita area first-class eatery. But, when he first came to town, the 2038 M3L Triple A Manager of the Year would've been lucky to be invited out for beers with the grounds crew. "Very few people believed in our ballclub when I got here. It just goes to show you that a bunch of talented ballplayers playing together can make any old manager a genius," a modest Alvarado joked, not fully recognizing his own stature in the baseball community. However, baseball journalists duly noted his managerial skill as he skippered the Drummers to a 78-24 record this year and a first place finish in the Menard's AAA. |
