Racers Macías Gone for Year
Saturday, September 4th, 2038
The doctors have spoken and José Macías of the Indianapolis Racers didn't like what he heard. The 31-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Macías sustained his season-ending injury during the Salt Lake City Buzz game yesterday at Spirits Stadium. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Indianapolis medical staff reported Macías had a torn rotator cuff and would be absent from the lineup for at least 7 months.
For the year Macías has saved 0 games while posting an ERA of 4.21 and 25 strikeouts in 25.2 innings. His totals also include a 1-3 record in 5 relief appearances.
