Vázquez's 23-Game Hitting Streak Ends Tuesday, August 24th, 2038 The hitting streak that Indianapolis center fielder Roberto Vázquez had kept going for 23 games was ended today by the Augusta Timber Hawks. Vázquez was stymied over 4 at-bats today, but the rest of his team picked him up, taking the 8-7 victory at Speedway Field. "Hitting streaks come and go," Vázquez said. "It did put a little pressure on me. It's hard to be natural at the plate with something like that always in the back of your mind. If it had to end, I'm glad it was in a win." So far this season Vázquez has hit .276 with 4 home runs, 24 RBIs and scored 42 times. |
