Álvarez Sets Season Mark with Hit #164

An amazing season for Mario Álvarez reached its climax today, as the Ft. Worth Cattlemen's second baseman set the league record for most hits in a single season with 164, passing the great Jesús Morales. Fans at The Cattle Pen gave him a 5-minute standing ovation after the historic hit.
