Injury Sidelines Alfredo Martínez for Season Friday, September 24th, 2038 The Toledo Stingers and their fans were rocked today by the news that star right fielder Alfredo Martínez would miss the rest of the season due to injury. Martínez was hurt in a recent game against the Montana Pandas while running the bases. He was immediately removed from the game and taken for examination. Tests today revealed the injury was a torn back muscle. His doctors think that Martínez will miss about 5 months. So far this season Martínez is batting .249 with 13 home runs, 33 RBIs and 47 runs scored. He has 70 hits in 281 at-bats, 17 walks and a .312 OBP. Martínez has played in 70 games. |
