Baars Holds Stingers Scoreless Sunday, July 4th, 2038 The bats were ice cold today for the Toledo Stingers at LA Forum. Echo Park Lakers starter Wop Baars kept the Stingers cold all day, shutting them out in a 9-0 victory. In a fine outing, the 28-year-old hurler allowed 5 hits while striking out 5 and walking 0. "I'm not quite sure what was different today," Baars admitted later. "I didn't feel like I was doing anything differently, but the results speak for themselves." This year Baars has a 5-3 mark in 9 starts with a 3.47 ERA. He has given up 56 hits in 59.2 innings, struck out 44 and issued 17 walks.
