Hawks Come up Short of Playoffs Wednesday, September 1st, 2038 It's the better-luck-next-time point of the season for the Laredo Hawks. The club was officially eliminated from playoff contention today, and will turn their attention to next year's campaign. "You know, the average player doesn't get that many seasons, so every time you're eliminated, it hurts," said Hawks third baseman Jesús Gómez. Before this season, the Hawks last missed the playoffs in 2036. In the 18 years they have been a USSL Single A franchise, they have missed the playoffs 15 times. In the last 10 years, they have missed the playoffs 8 times. Laredo last won the SL A Championship in 2037. |
