Smythe #1 SA Pitcher in August Wednesday, September 1st, 2038 Patrick Smythe took a much-deserved turn in the spotlight earlier today as he accepted the USSL Single A Pitcher of the Month award for August. The 23-year-old Arryns starter is a relative newcomer to the league, but nonetheless racked up an impressive 3-0 won-lost record in 5 starts. This month he fanned 37 batters in 36 innings and compiled a 1.50 ERA. Presently Smythe has a 7-7 mark in 22 starts with a 3.81 ERA. He has given up 126 hits in 125.1 innings, struck out 124 and issued 47 walks. Opposing clubs have compiled a .260 batting average against him. |
