Barthorpe Strokes 5 Hits Friday, August 20th, 2038 Columbia first baseman Dean Barthorpe had a big day at Idaho Falls Park today against the Idaho Falls Chukars. The 23-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-5 and led the River Rats to a 5-0 triumph over Idaho Falls. "Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Barthorpe said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all." Dean Barthorpe singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, singled in the 6th and singled in the 8th.
