Best Pitcher Honor Goes to Holland of Northern Virginia Sunday, October 31st, 2038 The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids have a rising superstar or maybe even a budding Hall-of-Famer in the making. It's Chris Holland, this year's United States Premier League Gold Ball selection. This blossoming hurler wowed fans, peers and sportswriters with a fabulous performance. Holland compiled a 11-6 record in 22 starts, tallied 150 strikeouts in 149.2 innings and recorded a 2.65 ERA. Other clubs managed only a .212 batting average against him. Gary Ashley of the New Orleans Voodoo finished second in voting, while Eddie Kop of the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids finished third. |
