Grey Wolves Lose to BC, 4-3
|
The Philadelphia 1776 BC overcame a good performance by Vancouver shortstop Richard Jost to knock off Vancouver, 4-3, at Ben Franklin Memorial Coliseum. Jost went 2-3 with a double and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Masami Kogawa, who went 6.1 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 10 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 1. His record now stands at 2-1. Kenji Aoki, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 8th save.
In the bottom of the first, Eddie Sachs hit a 2-run home run for Philadelphia 1776. The 2nd home run of the season for the Philadelphia 1776 designated hitter put the BC on top, 2-0.
Vancouver manager David Krause said he was "mildly disappointed" with the loss. "We had our opportunities, but we didn't take advantage of them," he said.
The Grey Wolves fall to 8-12 and continue their unimpressive start to the 2038 season.
