Outlaws Get One-Run Win at San Mateo
|
Fans who came to Lang Park watched the Nashville Outlaws and the San Mateo Dirty Reds fight to the finish.
The Nashville Outlaws did just enough to sneak past the San Mateo Dirty Reds, 4-3, at Lang Park. Nashville pitcher Mark Toope earned player of the game honors. Toope got the win, improving to 4-6. He allowed 4 hits and walked 1 over 7.1 innings. Toope allowed 2 earned runs. Onson Sweemey was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 18 of 20 save opportunities.
With two out in the top of the first, Jerry Yates barreled up a fastball from CB Huntington. The result was a 2-run home run, putting the Outlaws in front, 3-0.
"Good pitching, clutch hitting," said Nashville skipper Ryan Naylor. "I can't complain."
With the victory, the Outlaws record now stands at 42-44.
