White Walkers Top Outlaws to Even Record
|
The Nashville Outlaws got a sterling performance from first baseman Tom Burton, but the White Walkers still prevailed, 8-5. Burton was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. Juan Guillén, who went 5 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 3 runs on 7 hits, while walking 0 and striking out 2. His record now stands at 6-5. Buffalo, at 41-41, occupies 6th place in the Silver League.
Buffalo relied on the bat of Gilberto Ocasio to get the win. The right fielder ripped a 3-run home run in the top of the seventh inning to put the White Walkers ahead, 7-3. For the game, Ocasio had 1 double and 1 home run in 5 at-bats.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Ocasio told reporters after the game.
