Divided Rally For Late Win Over Flamingos
|
The Divided had to overcome a fine effort from Las Vegas pitcher Enrique Valle to grab a narrow 2-1 win at The Strip. Valle went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Reliever Randy Gabaldon picked up the win. His record improves to 4-3. Isaaka Ienimea took the loss. The Divided improve their record to 29-47 with the win over Las Vegas.
D.C. used the timely hitting of Júlio Rodríguez to seize the win. The shortstop stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the ninth inning to put the Divided on top, 2-1. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Afterward, Divided manager Jonathan Gerth was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
