Host Rainbow Mermaids Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -

In a pivotal Game , the Portland Evergreens were hoping for a big game from starter Cristián Moreno. They got one.
The right-hander shut out the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids, proving to be the difference-maker as he led his club to a 2-0 victory. The Evergreens took the 2-0 win over the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Portland used the bat of John Schaefer to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the second inning to put the Evergreens ahead, 2-0. It was his lone hit in 4 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"It feels good to get this one," Schaefer told the Portland Herald.
Game 6 is scheduled for Tuesday, October 19th, 2038 at Evergreen Park. The scheduled starters for the game are Noe Toepfer for Northern Virginia and Robert Smalls for Portland.
