Host Evergreens Drop Pivotal Game , Now Trail Series -

The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids moved to within one game of the Round 2040 today, downing the Portland Evergreens on the road at Evergreen Park by a score of 10-6. Rainbow Mermaids second baseman Mario Castillo was named player of the game after he was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2. The win gives the Rainbow Mermaids a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2039.
It could have been a different outcome for Northern Virginia, had it not been for Ryder Ringor, the 23-year old third baseman . Ringor contributed a 2-run single in the top of the fifth inning to put Northern Virginia up, 4-1.
"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said Northern Virginia skipper David Lister.
Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Portland. The scheduled starters for the game are Chris Holland for the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and Eric Matson for the the Portland Evergreens.
