Round 2039 Game 1 Victory for Matson and Portland
The Portland Evergreens are one game away from a sweep after a 6-3 win over the visiting Greenville 84s at Evergreen Park today. Evergreens right-hander Eric Matson was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings allowing 3 runs. Portland now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 2039.

Portland grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Fernando Soto delivered a 2-run single, to make it 5-3 in favor of the Evergreens.

"We're happy," Soto told reporters after the win. "When you're in the playoffs, you've got to treat every game like it could be your last."

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow. The scheduled starters for the game are Júlio Valenzuela for the Greenville 84s and Cristián Moreno for the the Portland Evergreens.
