Pivotal Game Goes to Host Rainbow Mermaids, 5-3
|
Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids catcher Tim Stinson was the difference-maker at Atlantica today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Round 2039. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 5-3 win over the Portland Evergreens to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Stinson delivered in the bottom of the second inning for Northern Virginia. With the game tied and a runner on 2nd, the catcher hit a 2-run home run to right.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Stinson.
Game 2 is set to be played tomorrow in Hampton. The scheduled starters for the game are Cristián Moreno for Portland and Noe Toepfer for Northern Virginia.
