Closing In: D.C. Nears R2040 With Dramatic Game Win
|
Phoenix center fielder Martín Talia pounded D.C. pitchers at Washington Stadium, but it was not enough to keep the Hotspur from losing in a walk-off. The Divided fell 9-8 in Game of the Round 2039. Talia slugged 2 home runs, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 and was named player of the game for his efforts, even as he saw the Hotspur slip into a - tie in the best-of- series.
Sinclair Bothof chipped in for D.C. with a solo home run in the bottom of the 12th. For the game, the left fielder had 4 hits in 6 at-bats with 1 home run, 3 singles, 2 runs scored, and 1 run batted in.
"It was offense that won us the game," said winning manager Jonathan Gerth.
