Pivotal Game Goes to Host Rainbow Mermaids, 9-5
Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids catcher Tim Stinson was the difference-maker at Atlantica today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Round 2039. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 9-5 win over the Vancouver Grey Wolves to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Zahid Kashani chipped in for Northern Virginia with a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 3 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI.

"I felt good up there," said Stinson. "I saw the ball well."

Game 2 is scheduled for tomorrow at Atlantica in Hampton. Slated to start are Sjoerd Reynoud for the Vancouver Grey Wolves and Eddie Kop for the the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids.
