Divina, Northville Start SL AA Championship Strong with Home Win
|
The Northville Eclipse started the SL AA Championship in style today, downing the visiting Virginia Beach Whales at Old-Timers Park by a score of 11-5 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-5 series. Eclipse designated hitter Daniel Divina was named player of the game after he was 2 for 4 with a home run, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.
Northville grabbed control in the bottom of the sixth. With two out and the bases loaded, Ik-jun Cho delivered a grand slam home run, to make it 8-4 in favor of the Eclipse.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Cho told the Northville Daily News.
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Old-Timers Park in Northville. Slated to start are Bu-wei Zhenya for Virginia Beach and Devoid Couch for Northville.
