Bowen, Nobles Wallop Humpbacks in Game 4 of R1
|
The Bakersfield Nobles and the Alaskan Humpbacks will take the PL AAA Championship to a decisive 5th game. In a must-win situation today, the Nobles beat the Humpbacks 8-1 at Jerome Grounds to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Bakersfield first baseman Tyler Bowen was named player of the game in the win after he went 3-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
Bowen delivered in the bottom of the third inning for Bakersfield. With the game tied and the bases empty, the first baseman hit a solo home run to left-center.
"This was a good win for us," said Bowen. "It's one more step toward our ultimate goal."
Game 5 is scheduled for Monday at Sea World. The scheduled starters for the game are Firpo Marberry for the Bakersfield Nobles and Glenn Suggett for the the Alaskan Humpbacks.
