The Twinsburg Tigers moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Amarillo Warheads on the road at Ballpark of Henderson by a score of 4-2. Tigers right-hander Eddie de Vlaming was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of 5-hit ball. The win gives the Tigers a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 3L R Championship.
Twinsburg used the clutch hitting of Bobby O'Kennedy to capture the win. The center fielder drilled a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to give the Tigers the lead, 2-0. For the game, O'Kennedy had 1 single and 2 doubles in 4 at-bats.
"I'm trying to keep it simple," said O'Kennedy. "Just do my job."
Game 4 is set to be played tomorrow in Amarillo. The scheduled starters for the game are António del Pozo for the Twinsburg Tigers and Luis Bongers for the the Amarillo Warheads.
