Ladue Rams manager Henry Henderson knew it was a gamble to give the start to a rookie. It was a good gamble to take.

Pitching in front of a hostile crowd, 19-year-old right-hander Martín Galindo silenced the host Surprise Shockers at ďAbbots Ballpark today. The Rams shut out the Shockers by a final score of 4-0, to give the Rams a 2-1 advantage in the best-of-5 SL R Championship.

Galindo, who was born in Ponce, Puerto Rico, threw 84 pitches over 7 innings, while allowing no earned runs.

"Big team win," Galindo said later.

Game 4 is scheduled for tomorrow in Surprise. The scheduled starters for the game are Jiao-long Yuen for the Ladue Rams and Jorge Bigro for the the Surprise Shockers.
