Otters Win Again, Extend Series Lead to 3-0
|
The Tulsa Otters moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Hudsonville Flanderses on the road at Field of the Toros by a score of 3-1. Otters left-hander Gerard Fyson was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 1 run. The win gives the Otters a 3-0 advantage in the best-of-5 PL R Championchip.
Tulsa needed the clutch hitting of José Anaya to notch the win. The left fielder hammered a 2-run home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Otters on top, 3-1. For the game, Anaya had 1 home run and 2 singles in 4 at-bats.
"It was a good day but I'm not letting my guard down," Anaya said. "I'll let my guard down as soon as someone puts a big, fat championship ring on my finger."
