Myrtle Beach Breaks Through for First Win in PL A Championship; Now Trails 2-1
|
The Myrtle Beach Seahawks have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Chicago Tula, winning 5-3 at Ramblers Ballpark today. Seahawks left-hander Modeste Azagba was named player of the game after he threw 5 innings of 1-hit ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the Seahawks to 2-1 in the best-of-5 PL A Championship.
Myrtle Beach used the timely hitting of Lung Chaim to seize the win. The center fielder stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the seventh inning to put the Seahawks on top, 4-2. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.
Chaim called the win "a collective effort."
The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Ramblers Ballpark. The scheduled starters for the game are Alan Haas for Myrtle Beach and Edwin Meadows for Chicago.
