Northern Virginia catcher Tim Stinson was the key at The Hollywood Bowl today, being named player of the game as he powered the Rainbow Mermaids to victory in a critical Game of the Round 1. The Rainbow Mermaids took the 9-8 win over the Hollywood Shredders to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.

Tony Calhoun, who is tied for 3rd in the PL in stolen bases with 28, aided the Northern Virginia cause with a 2-run triple in the top of the third. For the game, the shortstop went 2-4 with a triple. He drove in 2 runs.

"Winning the game is always the first objective," Stinson said.
