Almost There: Hollywood On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-4 Win
The Hollywood Shredders moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Charleston Battery on the road at Charleston Armory by a score of 6-4. Shredders right-hander David Buchanan was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings allowing 2 runs. The win gives the Shredders a - advantage in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

Hollywood needed the clutch hitting of Baldomero Avino to notch the win. The first baseman hammered a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to put the Shredders on top, 3-2. For the game, Avino had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.

Avino called winning a team effort. "It's not the same guy every time," he said. "It's the sum of the parts."
