Facing elimination, the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids were looking for a savior. For today, at least, Ratko Davidovic delivered.

At Atlantica, the 25-year old pitched a game for the ages to fend off the Philadelphia 1776 BC and help the Rainbow Mermaids close their deficit in the Round 1. Davidovic threw a 9-inning, complete-game shutout in the 5-0 Northern Virginia win, striking out 6 and allowing 8 hits. The Rainbow Mermaids how trail - in the best-of- series.
