Toledo Open Third League Championship with Win thanks to Larry Moore
|
Toledo Stingers left fielder Larry Moore was the difference-maker at Pacesetter Park today, winning player of the game honors as he led his club to victory in a pivotal Game of the Third League Championship. The Stingers took the 9-3 win over the Ft. Worth Cattlemen to seize a - lead in the best-of- series.
Dan Hines, who is on pace to hit 23 home runs this season, aided the Toledo cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the bottom of the third. For the game, the designated hitter was 1-3 with a double and a walk.
"It was a good win," Toledo manager TJ Reynolds told BNN reporters after the game. "I told them I was proud of them. These guys are professional ballplayers, they know how to get motivated without my help."
