Almost There: Portland On Cusp of R1 Triumph After 6-4 Win

The Portland Evergreens are one game away from a sweep of the Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids today after a 6-4 road win at Atlantica. Evergreens left-hander Marcos Tejedor was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 5-hit ball. Portland now holds a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
It could have been a different outcome for Portland, had it not been for Blaze Alexander, the 26-year old left fielder . Alexander contributed a run-scoring hit-by-pitch in the top of the second inning to put Portland up, 1-0.
"I tried to mix it up, keep them off balance," said Tejedor.
