Game was big. So was Enrique Valle.

In leading Las Vegas to a crucial 3-1 victory over the Oakland Oaks at The Strip today, the Las Vegas starter rose to the occasion, tossing 7.1 good innings and earning player of the game honors. Valle threw 7 innings of 6-hit ball as the Flamingos defended their home field to seize a - lead in the best-of- Silver League Championship.

The game was on the line with two out in the top of the ninth inning, but Vaugh Chesser didn't flinch. With runners on 1st and 2nd and Oakland trailing 3-1, Chesser retired Cecil Nelson to end the threat. "Nothing to it," said Chesser, with a wink.
