Buffalo Open Silver League Championship with Win thanks to Tom
The Buffalo White Walkers started the Silver League Championship in style today, downing the visiting Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids at Beyond the Wall by a score of 11-7 to stake an early - lead in the best-of- series. White Walkers center fielder Tom Smythe was named player of the game after he was 3-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 3 runs and scored once.

Dread Roberts, the Buffalo left fielder, contributed a 2-run home run in the bottom of the fourth inning to make the score 5-2, White Walkers. For the game, Roberts was 1 for 4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2.

"We came out aggressive," said White Walkers manager Chris Lau. "We came out swinging the bats."
