Thrice as Nice: Northern Virginia Seizes - Advantage With Late Win
The Northern Virginia Rainbow Mermaids and the Buffalo White Walkers went into extra innings at Atlantica today, with Northern Virginia emerging victorious. The 6-5 win means the Rainbow Mermaids are now a game away from sweeping the White Walkers from the Round 1. Despite the loss, White Walkers right-hander Kent Good was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball. The win gives Northern Virginia a - advantage in the best-of- series.

Owen Sharts had a nice at-bat for the Rainbow Mermaids with one out in the bottom of the 11th. With a runner on 1st, the right fielder drew a walk, which would prove important in the Northern Virginia win.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Northern Virginia manager David Lister said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."
