Stingers Rally Past BC to Claim - Series Lead
The Toledo Stingers needed some last-minute heroics to do it, but ultimately emerged one game away from the Round 2 today. The Stingers got took the 5-4 win against the Philadelphia 1776 BC in a walk-off at Pacesetter Park. Toledo right fielder Alfredo Martínez was named player of the game after he was 2-5 with 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice. The win gives the Stingers a - advantage in the best-of- Third League Championship.

The game was still up for grabs in the bottom of the ninth. With two out, Martínez hit a fastball from José Cotilla for a solo home run. The Stingers, in dramatic fashion, had a walk-off win.

"We're feeling good in this clubhouse right now after that one," Martínez told the Toledo News.
