Tejedor Handcuffs 1837 BBC, Evergreens Seize - Advantage in R1

The Portland Evergreens moved to within one game of the Round 2 today, downing the Houston 1837 BBC on the road at Houston Grounds by a score of 5-4. Evergreens left-hander Marcos Tejedor was named player of the game after a strong outing in which he threw 7 innings of shutout ball. The win gives the Evergreens a - advantage in the best-of- Round 1.
Tejedor, a native of Bartlett, Texas, was dealing all game. He kept Houston hitters off-balance, while giving the Evergreens 7 quality innings. Tejedor threw 87 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 6.
"I got everyone together and told them they did great today," Portland manager Brandon Slouck told BNN reporters after the game. "But I warned them that even if we make it out of the Round 1, it's only going to get harder."
