Shredders Jolt Dirty Reds with Late Rally
|
Hollywood right fielder Chris Payling was a significant contributor in his team's 7-4 triumph over the San Mateo Dirty Reds. He was 4 for 5 with 4 singles, while scoring 2 runs for Hollywood. The first-place Shredders now have a 7-game winning streak.
Hollywood used the timely hitting of Baldomero Avino to capture the win. The first baseman socked a 3-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Shredders ahead, 7-4. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Avino.
