Mercer Island starter Théo Picard pitched effectively against the Chesapeake Continentals at Mercer Island Grounds. The right-hander led his team to a 5-3 win. The first-place Screaming Eagles, at 64-37, now lead their division by 4½ games.

Fernando Flores hit a run-scoring double off Brooks Senetzer in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Screaming Eagles in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Flores had 2 singles, while going 3 for 4.

"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Flores said after the game.
