Multi-HR Day for Velthuizen as Thunder Hawks Overpower Shooters, 12-4
Ft. Polk South catcher Scott Velthuizen played a vital role in his team's 12-4 triumph over Springfield. He hit 2 home runs, while scoring 4 times and driving in 3 for Ft. Polk South. At 52-48, the Thunder Hawks find themselves in 5th place in the Premier AA.

Velthuizen contributed a big hit, a 2-run home run, for Ft. Polk South in the bottom of the fourth. With his team trailing 3-2, Velthuizen took a cutter from Morton Huffman and stroked the home run to left. His 9th home run of the season allowed the Thunder Hawks to leap in front, 4-3.

"We came out aggressive," said Thunder Hawks manager John Anderson. "We came out swinging the bats."
